And I make historical costumes for a living! All day, I spend my time between bolts of fabric and clothes that were in fashion hundreds of years ago. I have spent a lot of time researching historical fashion and learning everything there is to know about the clothes people used to wear, so I can make films and theater production look like a true replica of the historic period.

Hi, I’m Ilse and I am a historical costume designer and maker. I design and sew costumes for theater and film productions. I have been sewing my own clothes for most of my life, and I have a background in both theater science and dressmaking.
